It happened. 27th Dec, Throwley Yard Cinema, 11am. We hosted our first art session. We had 8 people come, and spend the majority of the day with us. the feedback is amazing, so, yes, we are going to make it a repeating event. We provided supplies, books to colour and, someone to talk to. The day ended up with conversations more than creative art, except for the oranges and cloves which one participant brought to do, along with the whole history behind the oranges and cloves. We are looking at several different venues in Sutton along with the Selkirk pub to see which would be better suited, but at the moment, the cinema is winning.

so, come along to the next event, where you can be as creative or talkative as you want, all free of charge.

Merry Christmas. Ok, yes, its almost over, but now is when I have time to sit down with a glass of ... Yeah ok, JD Honey and Coke.

After cooking a turkey, large enough for 14 people ( there is 3 of us, plus dogs and cats ), I realise that this business has consumed me. Im either providing care which is needed for a good portion of the day, or im looking at the business which now consists of the website, looking for funding, attending several stearing forums, attending support groups I co-host and well, we will get to the next bit shortly, but I need to apologise to those who I usually contact to say Merry Christmas or interact in some way.

And you know why? did you know there were over 75 thousand people alone last year? I want to do my best to help bring that number down.

I have funally got 3 directors for the business to go ahead and should have the bank account finalised on Friday, which is our event launch day. Yes, thats right, free events. The Arts and Crafts project we have named Take P'HeArt, is free to attend. We will have a few bits and peices for sale, such as the useful Fridge magnet, which provides quick access to this website, and a completly optional £1 donation towards venue hire and the supplies.

So, back to Christmas ( Take P'HeArt is on the 27th )... even now, im looking around, and all i see is art supplies (some were kindly donated from a friend - thanks Julie ) and im thinking about updating the website with the company number. (now done - nothing like the present to do things eh) and listing the directors (yeah, that to is now done) but the biggest update is still yet to come, which will integrate the events calendar in with the whole of the website.

And this is where im going to say oh no... I forgot to send Christmas Cards out so... this is my thought to you... 17th Dec. This is the date it all starts.... on the 17th Dec, i received the documentation inciating that registration for the business was successfull. so, still really busy. Next friday is the first P'HeArt session which is really exciting but, getting the stuff together is taking its time. We will get there. We will succeed, lets see what happens eh

Hello... I have been so busy. Ok, firstly, I now have all the signatories to create the CIC Business. I will be doing this over the weekend. Secondly, and this one I am more excited about than creating the business... Take P'HeArt, Take PArt in Art from the HeArt, get it, a play on words, and letters... Tracy came up with this, which is the new arts and crafts group sessions we are starting, the first is being held on the 27th Dec, the aim is to provide a safe space for people to meet, talk and take part in arts and crafts to help with both combating Mental Health and loneliness.

All supplies are provided free of charge, all we ask, if its affordable, is an optional one pound donation towards costs and venue rent.

Hello and well, here we are, a little over , 2 weeks late.

Service Verification

Firstly, I have a system to verify and validate the services I signpost to. Its a simple system, it will email to the service provider, tell them what is held in this site, and ask them to click a link to validate the information. Click a link. thats all. What I want to know is, if people click the validation link, does it work? or is the link not clear enough?

Should i reduce the information sent via email so they have to click the link to see what is being held... I get several emails saying thanks, thats right, or amendments to the information. This can all be changed if the link is used, and the service can be removed if the provider doesnt want it to be hosted on this site, all they have to do is click the link in the email.

Activities

So, the past two weeks, I have again, attended several meetings, related to services presented to service users, and support systems presented to carers. The initial outcome, always seems positive, I can see the benifit in what they are trying to do. However, some of the meetings describe a different project, which, if implemented in the way it was ment, then there would be no need for, it feels, half of the projects, focus groups, meetings, because the intention in "this meeting" has already been explored and implemented. make sense?

Website Update.

I have new plans for the website. currently if a business has a service they offer, then thats good. one entry. but if that same business has 2, 3 or 5 services they offer, then there is duplication of informaiton, the only difference currently is the event title and posibly email address, so Im changing that. There will be a directory of businesses, and if you click on that, it will expand and show exactly what they offer. The initial home screen will remain the same, with easy and quick access to services, but if you want to know more, it will be there ... soon ...

Service providers update I have several, i guess, hundreds of services waiting to be put on the website, but currently the two people I care for are unwell, with a bug which is making the rounds locally, so my carers time is being made use of 100%, leaving not much after. this is resulting in the website not being updated as often and with as many entries as I would like. Watch this space, its happening, but slowly, and with the changes I intend to do, which ultimately will make the process quicker, is slowing things down while i complete it.This will also have an impact on the event calendar, which will be linked in to the services offered. this means any service which has restricted opening times and dates, will be able to define these on the website. Im still in two minds whether to hide them if they are not open, disable the button or just leave as is. What do you think?

Hello everyone. So, firstly, i want to say sorry for the delay in updates. I had to step away from the website for a little bit. Once again, someone has posted online, that the earth will be taken over in 2028, and somebody who has ocd, paranoia, psychosis, believed this event will actually happen, so sleep has been eratic, eating has been eratic, and I have just spent time, tring to convince them that this event wont happen, like it didnt happen last year, or the time before, or before or ....

I had a fantastic meeting with Alex, he is trying to restore a community to how it use to be prior to covid, and he has developed a booklet with all the events held locally, so I have started to import these events in to the calendar. I think the whole website needs a revamp, to allow for further defining when events are going to be. question is, do i only display events, services, etc, when they are open or display them all with information on when they are open? going to have to think about that..

I have also been asked to co-host a support group, which I have been attending every wednesday, so that is fantastic news. that along with chaterbox which i attend every thursday....

Hello and welcome to another weekly, although a bit longer than weekly roundup. Yesterday I attended the SouthWest London and St Georges Mental health Trust AGM. Although I didnt attend it, I am now a co-host for the Peer Recognition support group, so I attended the coffee and chat part of the AGM and just after the meeting started, I had to leave. But..... me being me, i went around, handing out my flyer to anybody who would take it. I met a couple of the directors and, overheard a couple of ladies talking about their experiances, so, again I gave them my leaflets. And that turned in to a long conversation about "We were only talking about the lack of information sharing". It transpires they are councillors and their task is to try and get the communities involved and aware. They were so excited to hear about the website, it again reminded my why i do this, what its all for. This lead on to a couple of name dropping and further LinkedIn contacts. It was the ecitement they displayed when they checked out their area to find I had local services defined for that area which in turn really got me excited all over again.

I also met the guys who run the volunteer center, and have already had a few emails with details of pilot schemes and names of people to contact...

And.... I met someone who is trying to create a connection for a community within sutton. By this I mean, he is meeting people, and discussin what they want, what they would like to get involved in, within a community in Sutton. He has produced a really good calendar booklet, which describes each day, what is available, where its located with a brief summary. he also use to run a website simular to what im doing but just focusing on Sutton, so we are going to see if there is any cross over and build on that.

I intend to reproduce anything which is working in this area to other areas around the UK, so if anybody is interested to help, then let me know and we can have a chat, see what you can do to help me, and ill see what I can do to help you and your community.

Hello and welcome to this weeks round up.

So, to start off, Dialogue Plus, this is the new method to assess and create a care plan for patients. I attended a workshop this week, to listen to feedback from people who took part in the pilot, to see what they thought worked well and where it could be improved. It was interesting. In the end, I ... well, I gave out around 100 flyers for My Mental Wellness UK, as each and everybody who attended saw the purpose of the site and wanted to pass on information to their patients. Some of the participants already knew about the site, and asked for more flyers... It was an amazing 4 hours, just listening to them talking about the system.

Support groups

Then Chatterbox on Thursday. This is the 3rd meeting I attended, and heard some amazing feedback from a previous attendee. Next week it looks like we have around 10 people attending, so its starting to take off. You can find details if you change the location to Sutton and check out Support Groups. Plans for next week

Next week, im attending a Suicide Prevention conference, Sutton Mental Health foundaton for a number of events, and it looks like I have 5 meetings / steering groups / forums to attend. Going to be a busy week.

Website News.

The Location service is working really well, im really pleased with it. Let me know what you think. Location Services

Thanks to Gemini, Googles AI service, I have been able to create a new method to locate the area you are in. This means its more accurate and does not depend on how you connect to the internet. Again, I only extract the district / area you are located, I dont record any other information about your location but more to the point, I dont know who uses the website. I know how many times the page is accessed but by whom, i have no idea.

So. location. When you visit the website, it uses the inbult function of your device browser to provide your rough location, if you dont want to use that, then you have the option to give your post code. Again, the only information I get from that is the area you are in. If you dont want to use your post code, then just press the submit button and pick an area where you are located from the list.

Carers resources

Im still adding further resources for carers. it takes around 5 minutes to verify each as I check different information and ensure its all current. Its happening, just slowly.

Support Groups

Last week we attended chatterbox, a support group held every thursday between 1 and 3pm in Tooting. This week it was suggested that we look in to an arts and crafts project as part of the business, so if you are locall, this may be comming your way soon. We will be looking at funding for this venture to try and keep it a free event for you to attend. I have also been asked if I would like to co-host a carers recognition group I attend every wednesday, so thats exciting. well, thats it for this week so far.
